Welcome to the
Southern Chapter
of the
International Graphoanalysis SocietyŽ

Picture of SCIGAS meetingThe Southern Chapter of the International Graphoanalysis Society (SCIGAS) was organized as the South Carolina Chapter of the International Graphoanalyst Society, in the early 1960's in Columbia, the state capital, where it still meets.  With the closing and sale of IGAS in January, 2003, the membership voted to go forward, under the name of Southern Handwriting Analyst's Society,  maintaining the same principles and ethics that had been practiced in the past.   When IGAS was revived, under new management in 2004, the Society elected to return to the old name to show our affiliation; but revising it slightly to indicate our multi-state membership.

Columbia is a centralized location where our members from South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Maryland and other states can meet.

The Chapter meets bi-monthly (except July), on the 3rd Saturday of January, March, May, September and November. We meet at the Redeemer Lutheran Church on St. Andrews Road in Columbia. The SCIGAS is not affiliated with the church, but they have been kind enough to permit us to use their facilities for several years.

SCIGAS sponsors an annual seminar, with a guest speaker that can instruct members in the many aspects of Graphoanalysis and to help us grow in our field.  Information will be published on this web site.

Guest that have an interest in the study of handwriting are always welcome at our meetings. If you are not familiar with the Columbia, please e-mail us for directions.

The Southern Chapter of IGAS is a non-profit organization.
